Playa del Carmen Real Estate has witnessed feverish pace of infrastructure development in last few years. These enhancements and progress has not only made the life of its citizens and travelers easy but also have given the city an urban touch and efficiency which is expected by tourists from around the world. What these developments have ensured is that Playa del Carmen has emerged as a tourist hub in the region attracting travelers from all over U.S, Canada and Europe.
One such development is construction of three new highway bridges which are right now almost half way through. These bridges are being constructed over the Playa del Carmen's main intersections with the Cancun-Playa del Carmen-Tulum federal highway. These bridges will go a long way to ease the traffic at these main intersections. Once these bridges come up, residents will be able to move from one part of the city to the other without the delays of waiting for all the through traffic. Since, Playa del Carmen is expected to receive a rush of tourist this year also, these bridges are a very welcome addition to the city. The bridges will make a commute between the new developments in the northern part of Playa del Carmen and the conveniences located in the south much easier.
One of the communities which will particularly be benefitted will be Villas Tranquilidad in El Cielo which has access to the federal highway just before the point where the bridges begin. Just where the bridges end there is a Sam's Club, and Playa del Carmen's newest shopping mall, Centro Maya, which includes a City Club (a new Mexican version of Sam's), and Soriana, a supermarket, a movie theater and many other amenities. With the bridges the commute time which is right now half an hour will take just 10 minutes. No doubt, the residents are very elated at the prospect of bridges coming up in near future.
Initially when the plan for the bridges was announced, there were some dissenting voices. Some protested that the bridges will have an effect of dividing the city in to beach side of the highway and the other non-beach side. But the concerns were unfounded and didn't generate lot of support. The bridge design has been made intelligently with posts instead of closed concrete, allowing for clear vision to the other side. While approaching the completed section of the first bridge on a small downtown road, a vehicle driver will not notice the bridge until reaching the federal highway itself.
