In 1970’s wooden hot tubs were the hot favourite of many but with invention of modern hot tubs, wooden ones lost its glory but once again they are making a come back in a big way.Different type of wood used for making these hot tubs has attracted people’s attention to it. Let’s take a quick look at the various wooden hot tub styles available in the market today.
Wooden tubs though have all the features and similarities like a spa, these are not known as spa. The wooden hot tubs usually come in a barrel like shape, having good amount of depth and fitted with metal rods. These tubs are either made of redwood or cedar, which undergo a special treatment to protect from getting decayed due to effect of water.
Earlier these wooden hot tubs didn’t have a sitting arrangement, so people had to sit on the floor, but the latest wooden hot tub designs come with a round sitting arrangement at the middle of the tub, where people can sit and enjoy the warmth of water. There are also water jets fixed inside, which can be directed towards particular body parts.
Another advantage of wooden hot tubs is that they are economical compared to other hot tub options available in the market. Plus the aroma that wood leaves when the wooden hot tub is filled with warm water, relaxes the human mind along with body. It acts like a smoothening massage for both body and soul.
Since wooden hot tubs are made up from the natural resource ie wood, they enhance the beauty of one’s backyard. Plus if you are looking at purchasing a hot tub for your country house or house having a traditional décor, then wooden hot tubs are a most to add that extra touch to it.
Wooden tubs have the tendency to leak water once they are put together and installed because wood tends to expand in water. But once it reaches the infiltration level, the leakage would stop automatically. But if the problem persists, you must check with the manufacturer about the defect. Many a times, sanitizers like chlorine or bromine used to purify water can damage the wood cells if used excessively. If you notice white marks or patches on the inside of the wooden hot tub, you should take it as an indication and must take the necessary steps to stop the problem Make sure that you are using the sanitizing products carefully. Taking a professional advice, so that the problem does not persist, is a must in such cases. While wooden tubs are a great option, one must also take proper care and maintain hygienic conditions to protect the life of wooden tubs.
