Whenever it comes to any wedding occasion the one thing which is inevitable is the wedding ring. The fact is that the ring ceremony is not just a custom to be followed on but the fact is that the wedding ring and the ring ceremony is the symbol of the union of the two souls and the beginning of a new conjugal life. At this stage of life it can be said that a man or a woman is born again as both of them are going to start a new life hereafter. There is an age old proverb that "weddings are made in heaven" and the whole ceremony here on earth is to show the respect and adoration to the decision made in heaven and to celebrate the beginning of the new life of the couple. And in this the ring exchange ceremony plays a very vital role. It is can be said that it is the first token of love presented on the occasion to the beloved at the beginning of their new life together.
In fact the custom of the ring exchange ceremony originated in the ancient Egypt but the fact is that with the progress of time it became a widespread custom to be followed throughout the world in every culture and society. And the fact is that the custom is so widespread that it is equally important to the new couples even today. And the fact is that the choice of the wedding ring is therefore also a very important decision to make. In fact these days the choice is no more confined to the iron rings to show possession and strength as used to be done by the Romans. But the fact with the progress of time people have become more fashion conscious and therefore not only the choice of the metal for the wedding ring has changed but in reality the design and decoration of the ring has also changed to a great extent.
These days the latest fashion trend is the most essential factor for the choice of the wedding rings or wedding bands. Even these days it is seen that people choose very precious rings with valuable gems fitted in them for their wedding rings. On the other hand there are also several people who prefer simple rings for their wedding for the reason that the ring may get damaged with regular usage. It is a true fact that as the custom says that the wedding ring is once worn and is never taken off therefore there always remains the risk of the ring getting damaged with regular usage. And therefore often people choose their rings with simple designs in it.
It is a great idea if you choose a plain platinum ring for your wedding with no precious stones in it. There are lots of designs and decorations available for such rings and it looks really gorgeous with a sober styling. On the other hand you can also use yellow gold which is a very common and popular choice or you can also select white gold for the metal of the ring to give a different look to it. Therefore the choice is always yours and the better styling you want you need to express your views to your jeweler. Besides that there are also several online stores available where you can find great designs of rings for your wedding.
Wedding rings are the most important part of a person’s wedding; this wedding ring forms the bond between the husband and the wife as long as they are alive. The ritual of using wedding bands for both men and women started a long time ago.
