Through carpet cleaning, you can do away with a lot of dirt, dust particles and allergens in your home. We all want a clean environment, especially when we spend every day in this environment - carpet cleaning is just one of the things you can do to have your home dirt free! Such things as vacuuming and using a steam cleaner once in a while, will really freshen up your personal interiors.
For those of you who have breathing difficulties such as asthma or allergens, giving the carpet a good cleaning will make the air around you cleaner too. A carpet is made up of complex fibers, where dirt and dust mites can get lodged - you might not see this without a microscope, but dirt builds up incredibly fast. I would suggest investing in a powerful vacuum and give the whole house a thorough hoovering at least once a week. Depending on your own living arrangements, you might need to do it twice a week or even more. For example, if you have pets or a large family there will be far more dirt coming in and on a daily basis than if you lived solo. If your carpets are in a particularly bad way then get them steam cleaned.
Carpet Cleaning With A Vacuum
If you are going to run the vacuum around your home then you might as well do a good job of it rather than halfheartedly. Go around first and pick anything off the floors so that you can push your vacuum around with ease. Pay special attention that there are no minute items such as paperclips, which if swallowed up could damage the interior of your cleaning buddy.
The longer you leave it to clean your carpets, the further the dirt will get pushed into its fibers, that is why it is so important to do it regularly. Never rush with the carpets, the slower you push your vacuum around the more dirt it will pick up.
Steam Cleaning Your Carpet
Steam cleaning your carpet is a more heavy duty option over vacuuming. A steam cleaner will use more pressure and a high temperature to dislodge dirt and other particles. Now you have two choices, you can attempt to this yourself and either buy or rent the machine, or you can pay a professional to do it for you. Like with the vacuuming method, if you want to make a good job of this and get your monies worth, move all of the furniture out of the room so you can get the whole carpet rather than just a part. Before I forget, take the dust-buster around the house first to take away the most of dust etc.
If you have decided to go out and buy one, then make sure you read the manual through thoroughly before getting down to it. It is best to let the carpet air out once it has been cleaned with the steamer - open up your windows and doors for good air circulation. Furthermore, once the job is done you should try not to tread on the carpets for twenty-four hours minimum.
As you can see, both methods of carpet cleaning have their benefits and it will do no harm to have a steam clean once in a while. Believe me, if you ever did see a carpet in microscopic view, you will never have your vacuum too far away!
