Everyday, more and more professional educators are considering the limits of the classroom. As methods of teaching online have increased substantially, and studies have proven their effectiveness, teachers of all grade levels have asked the question: how can I use online teaching to supplement my classroom teaching? In addition, some teachers are considering taking their own children home for an online education where they can get personalized attention, without some of the negative aspects of school.
Teachers around the world understand that one teacher to a group of children creates a problem. Students do better with individual instruction, and the classroom isn’t the place to get this. When teachers decide to educate their children online, it’s not because they don’t have confidence in the school system, but generally because they want to give their children a more personalized approach.
In order to give their children a better, personalized approach, these educators prefer to take their children home so that they can personally ensure their children get the most out of the educational curriculum. As educators, homeschooling teachers are aware of the kind of curriculum that will best prepare their children for the future. Because online curriculums offer teachers the chance to use their professional knowledge in their own children’s education, they are the option of many educators turned homeschoolers.
Educating online also gives teachers an easier way to evaluate and understand their student’s progress. Like no one else, educators know that standardized tests can’t measure a student’s progress. By educating online, teachers can measure their children’s learning through a variety of techniques that will help them customize the curriculum—teaching their children what they need to know, when they need to know it.
Teachers who send their kids to local schools do so because they want control over their children’s education. They want to know what their children are learning and how it’s being taught. Educating online, these teachers and students have an advantage through customizable curriculum options and a personalized approach.
