The Platinum Rockstars Superstar Show is a Los Angeles and Orange County based 70s and 80s classic rock 'n roll show featuring multiple artists all in one show. The show is a bit difficult to describe, but I will try. Part "awesome 70s and 80s cover band" and part "showcase 70s and 80s tribute band", the show features authentic costumed tributes to each of the artists they portray.
For example, when the show is featuring Led Zeppelin, there's Robert Plant in full blonde razor-throated glory, there's Jimmy Page in full bell-bottomed 70s rock star effect, complete with Les Paul and more hair! When the show features Van Halen, there's authentic "Eddie Van Halen" with his signature Charvel guitar and "David Lee Roth" with patented blonde mane and whiskey-soaked swagger.
Platinum Rockstars are fighting the impression of those who have never seen the show that they are simply another classic rock cover band in Los Angeles. Nothing could be further from the truth.
"We've put a lot of work into this show" says Platinum Rockstars co-founder and drummer Glenn Jost. "Most of it is seen and heard when people witness the show, but a lot of work is also behind the scenes -- making the show flow smoothly and seamlessly...it's not easy to do!"
Platinum Rockstars currently offers three distinct shows:
-
A 90-minute "medley" show featuring nearly all of the biggest hits of 70s and 80s rock specially tailored for the A.D.D. classic rock fan.
-
A three hour extravaganza featuring full-length and often live versions of the biggest arena rock hits of the 70s and 80s.
-
A dedicated Bon Jovi tribute show known as "Platinum Rockstars: The Bon Jovi Experience".
"We're responding to the demand out there for great live music, specifically classic rock", say the show's co-founder and lead vocalist David Victor. "Our Platinum Rockstars medley show is the most awesome collection of 70s and 80s rock music of all-time and the way we present it means there's going to be something to everyone. This is not your daddy's classic rock cover band!"
The show features a DJ/MC to keep the show rolling during set changes, which typically require only 2-3 minutes.
So is the Platinum Rockstars Superstar Show a simple "cover band"? Or perhaps way, way more and infinitely more entertaining than some 80s cover band? Judge for yourself. Check out the Platinum Rockstars Superstar Show 2010 in LA, San Diego, Orange County or Las Vegas and you will be a believer!
