Any public building that is within Oxford would have at one point been designed by an Oxford architect. Architects are trained professionals who develop the planning and design components that form the first step to constructing a building.
The word architect is derived from the Latin word architectus, the main purpose of an Oxford architect is to produce a design for a physical structure that meets the look and feel the client is after, making sure the building will be structurally sound and making sure the building we be safe. Oxford architects sometimes bid on construction project, they draw up their ideas for how they would do the building and the client chooses their favorite.
When producing designs for a client they will take into consideration the aesthetic features they would like whilst taking in consideration the local building regulations, therefore they will provide a design that will be granted permission by local governing bodies.
Once the design is approved by the client the Oxford architect will continue to be involved with the building project all the way until the building is finished. They will have a good understanding of construction and can assure that the builders stick to the designs 100%. If the building designs are not adhered to then the building will not look how the client wanted.
During a building project it's likely Oxford architects will work very long hours, a building project is usually a long term project that can take from several months to several years to complete the job. This depends on the size and type of building job. Architects can work on several unique building projects at one time which is why they have to work long hours to ensure deadlines on all projects are met and designs adhered to.
An Oxford architect should be fully qualified and attended university where they would have learned about building design and construction. They will have an understanding of building safety, local building requirements and building materials. Most architects happily comply with these requirements and they should not be unhappy to provide proof of their qualifications. If you work with an Oxford architecture company it will be worth asking to see their certificates to make sure they are legitimate.
