There are several types of basic coverages for home insurance including property damage, personal liability, medical cost, and living cost. Property damage will compensate against damages that is done to your home and personal property. It is best that you work with your insurance agent to determine the amount of coverage you need. Property damage policy usually does not offer coverage for motorized vehicles. Expensive personal belongings such as gold dishes, silver dishes, money, diamond rings, and necklaces are subject to a limited coverage. If you want to fully insure against these personal properties, you have to buy additional insurance.
The life insurance policy includes coverage for living expenses. In the event that your home is destroyed, your insurance company will pay you an allowance to cover your living expenses. Medical coverage policy will pay for the medical bills of the injured party such as your family or pet. It will pay out the compensation no matter if the accident is caused by you or another party. The medical coverage does not offer compensation for injuries caused by your home business. Besides the basic coverages, you can also opt to add other coverages such as guaranteed replacement cost, inflation guard endorsement and scheduled personal property endorsement. Guaranteed replacement coverage offers a comprehensive coverage for your home. Customers who are interested must increase the payment of the insurance from time to time so that they will be able to follow up the inflation rate.
The inflation guard endorsement ensures that your coverage will always maintain at a 80% if the replacement cost of your home increases due to inflation in the economy. The insurance company will make the necessary changes to the policy during the whole life term. Inflation guard endorsement is only available in a few companies. If you are interested in this coverage, you can check with your insurance agent.
Scheduled personal property endorsement offers coverage against expensive possessions. Examples of expensive possessions include jewelry, silverware, and stamps. The coverage amount of these items may exceed that of your house. This optional coverage is often broader than the home insurance coverage. Customers don't have to pay for a deductible for this coverage.
