There are many people who think that an above ground pool fence is unnecessary. These same people also know that if they have young children and property that backs up next to an ocean or lake, they should put a fence around their property. An above ground pool should be no different. It doesn’t matter if the swimming pool is in ground or an above ground pool that has a deck.

If one or the other of the above criteria doesn’t work for you, then you need to spend the money and hire a professional to come to your house and install the above ground pool fence for you. An above ground pool fence is great way to keep a child safe if you happen to lose track of them, but it shouldn’t be the first line of defense. You must always keep a close watch on any child that is close to any body of water. Accidents happen in seconds and you can’t take your eyes off them at all. There are numerous tragedies that occur when a parent runs to answer the door or pick up a phone while a child is playing in the pool.
An above ground pool fence won’t take the place of good safety practices. You should never leave any child unattended in a pool. Don’t permit inflatable devices to watch your children. Inflatable devices are useful and fun but they aren’t children’s baby sitters and they shouldn’t be treated as such. You should also learn CPR and practice it. Accidents can and do happen and you have to be ready to react appropriately and quickly when they do. CPR is always in a state of improvement so make sure to keep abreast of new developments and stay certified. Finally, if you have an above ground pool, remove the steps while they aren’t in use in order to prevent accidents.
