Here are one of those questions that our clients really should ask of us: Can I get motorised Perfect Fit clip in blinds?
Simply put - Yes you can! However we don't normally supply them because of some of the following issues.
Firstly cost. Motorised roof blinds (of any kind, drill to fit or clip in) are very expensive. Typically you should expect to pay between 2 and 3 times the cost of conventional Perfect Fit Roof Blinds. Is it worth it? is the first question you need to ask yourself.
Okay we accept that if you have blinds 15 feet off the ground you may need to spend the money! Typically you get a 2-metre pole with non-motorised blinds.
Standing on a chair if you must you will be able to reach up to 10 feet high with no problem.
Do consider also that the blinds keep the heat out in summer and the warmth in during winter, so why move them! We see from our experience most people only adjust their blinds on 3 to 4 occasions each year.
One of the other issues to consider is where are the electric power wires going to go? Roof blinds need a lot of power and are usually not battery operated which means that the system needs to be mains operated. In turn this implies wires going around the conservatory to each blind (not all that pretty). The wires are normally housed in a separate channel going around the conservatory and these lead down to the transformer before reaching the mains outlet.
Lastly with motorised perfect fit blinds do bear in mind the motor has to go somewhere. It is in fact located in a panel in the bottom 2 inches of the blind so you do actually lose more light also.
In summary do think long and hard about buying conservatory roof blinds of any sort, whether traditional, clip in or electric. Remember you have to live with them for possibly many years and it is therefore worth considering all aspects.
Conservatory Roof Blinds is an independent family owned business that puts you first. With Service Excellence as standard, you are in good hands when you choose your blinds with us.
