So your brand new iPhone has a cracked iPhone screen. The cracking of iPhone screens has been happening ever since it was first released. Dropping an iPhone the wrong way even once and you will have a cracked iPhone screen and it’s all over for the iPhone.
If you have a cracked iPhone screen the iPhone will still probably be usable. Obviously, it probably won’t crack any further and, in addition, there is the small detail with regard to having to hold it next to your face. It will cost you about $199 to get a new iPhone screen through Apple, which is quite expensive as a result of the capacitive touch screen which will have to be replaced as well as the glass cover. There are third part services that will replace a cracked iPhone screen as well, usually for about $100.
If you have a cracked iPhone screen there is a stopgap repair that you can use until you can convince yourself to spend another $200.
At the Apple store they sell a screen cover that has anti glare properties. It may appear to be much of a repair, but at least your cracked iPhone screen won’t crack any further and you won’t cut your face open, which is an additional benefit. In addition the coating is anti glare and will give the iPhone screen a nice matte look and it also offers some basic protection for the screen. Ii has a nice the texture, and obviously it will reduce the glare for your cracked iPhone screen. . . . . .
However, it should be noted that this is an only a solution for the short term. The screen for the iPhone has more than a single layer, which is the reason that most initial cracks aren’t devastating, but once the glass is compromised it will crack some more sooner or later. . . . . . . . . .

Also, it is interesting that when you bring your iPhone to the Apple store, the first question you will probably be asked will be if your iPhone had a case for it. The last recommendation that the Apple representative will make, as soon as it is clear that you have no intention of handing over your iPhone and $200, is that you should purchase a display cover. It would appear that the representative should be more interested in talking you into getting a cracked iPhone screen repaired.
