It was a long time coming, the happy marriage of an LCD TV and a DVD player in 1 unit. But for some reason, this concept was never established in the models developed and produced by the well-known brand names and were confined to lesser known brands. Fortunately Toshiba has come out with a series that could cater to a market that has longed for an innovation like this or to those who are looking for a quality product that provides them with an LCD TV with high performance and with a DVD player to boot without the high price tag.
Toshiba is one of the major brands that has created a worldwide reputation for their HD LCD TVs. And with such reputation has built a following that believes greatly in the quality they provide, even with their base or entry level LCD TVs. Successful as they are in this market, they have even gained more following with the entry of their combi LCD DVD TVs, an endeavour that only Toshiba has ventured into among the major LCD TV brands. One such model they have offered is the Toshiba 19DV615.
Available in two colours, black and white, the Toshiba 19DV615 is a 19 inch widescreen TV with an aspect ratio of 16:9 that has an integrated DVD player located at the side. While LCD TVs are known for its flat screens and their thin profiles, the Toshiba 19DV615 tends to become a bit thicker to accommodate space for the DVD player. And although there is a slight increase in thickness, it is still a veritable space saver as compared to a separate LCD TV and DVD player and the space it would require for accommodation. For an idea of how much space the unit would require, the Toshiba 19DV615 measures 37.1 by 47.6 cm in height and width. It could either be placed on a table top or any sturdy flat surface, or be mounted on a wall. Either way, you get a great looking TV that deceivingly looks very slim in two available colours to complement any room.
Other screen display size options for the Toshiba DV615 range includes the 19 and 26 inch models, which share identical specifications, with the 26 inch version receiving a higher resolution. The Toshiba 19DV615 is HD ready able to support 720p and 1080i resolutions. It has a native resolution of 1440x900 and has a 300cd/m2 brightness, not too shabby for a low end LCD TV wi8th a small screen size and a very cheap purchase price.
As mentioned, the Toshiba 19DV615 is a great choice because of its versatility; it has a good number of basic connectivity options that makes it so. You will find that the Toshiba 19DV615 has 1 HDMI port, and inputs for component and composite video, PC, headphone, and an output for digital audio.
Not surprisingly, the Toshiba 19DV615 offered quality picture performance, and although its rather small, was more than enough for the purposes it was designed for. And with a very affordable price tag, it’s a perfect choice for a second, or third, or maybe even as a fourth TV in the house.
