Like most LCD TVs, the Toshiba 37XV553DB comes with a piano black glossy finish. Complimented with a couple of rounded edges, the television also has silver trim accents and a smooth flowing small grille at the bottom panel that houses the speakers inside. There is also a stand that comes with it with the same black finish. It is easily attachable and comes with the necessary tools and material for attachments. Once attached, the stand allows the TV to swivel left to right for a better viewing angle or for reaching the connections that are located at the back of the Toshiba.

Speaking of the connections, the Toshiba 37XV553DB comes with the basic options found with most entry levels, and considering that this particular set was released in late 2008, having 3 HDMI ports was already great news. Other connectivity includes 2 SCART sockets, PC input socket, Component video socket, Headphone socket, S-video socket, and an AV socket. Some of the sockets can be found at the side panel for easier access. Even though this Toshiba TV can swivel easily to expose the back, it’s still a large TV that can be heavy for some people to move.

For a budget TV, the Toshiba 37XV553DB may be without the frills that some would look for in higher end models.
