For 2009, LG came up with a long list of new models for its TV line up and all of them had a specific target demographic. For those who do not have much cash to spare but is still in the market for a high quality LCD TV, LG has the LG 32LH2000 for them. Part of the entry level models, this LG is a 32 inch LCD TV that is a popular choice for many people as the unit is able to meet their price range and still provide top notch picture performance that although may not be at par with those that are at the higher levels, is still able to come up with an excellent video output loaded with multiple features not found from in its competitors in its class.

For this class year, LG has pulled out all the stops and even the entry level models, such as the LG 32LH2000, have surpassed expectations and have been built with a wide selection of adjustments for the picture quality. This ability to manually tweak the image yielded allows users to obtain optimum performance with colour production. But while colour accuracy is driven to superb quality, this entry level LCD can only go so far in achieving the deepest of black colours. Well, for the price tag that it comes in, it is far too much to expect for perfection in colour accuracy with this unit.

Looking at the LG 32LH2000, you will notice that it comes with what could be deemed as the industry standard in the glossy black finish of the frame. LG engineers have designed this LG television to continue on with the simplistic and minimalist exterior that most of its TV’s possess. There are subtle curves on the sides and edges that give off a distinguished look and nothing more than a LED indicator and the LG insignia adorns the bottom space of the frame.

Most entry level LCD TVs that have come out for 2009 sported a 720p 1366x768 pixel native resolution, and that included the LG 32LH2000. High end units came with a higher 1080p, but for an LCD TV that is only 32 inches, this is not really a big issue. The higher resolution does not provide much difference as the screen space is not that big so the 720p will do just fine.

LG reports that the LG 32LH2000 has a 30,000:1 contrast ratio, this is not hard to believe as the black levels were lowered to the extent that it performed better on tests as compared to its rivals. Although, as mentioned before, not as low as one would like to go, expectations on an LCD TV in its level shouldn’t go way up high. The brightness level of this LG TV was also remarkably good. In black and white testing, the LG performed well and had no difficulties in the variance of the two colours.

Conclusively, the LG 32LH2000 performed higher as compared to other models in the same price range with the same size. It’s among the top in its class and certainly provides good value to its cost. And because it is packed with a multitude of features, especially in image output modification, this LG television has great value.
