People who love reading, love books. They love the weight of the book in their hands, the feel of the pages flipping over their thumbs and even the smell of them. Book lovers may be hesitant to try eBook Readers, however eBook Readers have many benefits over the traditional paper book.
eBook readers come in various sizes, however most are light-weight and easy to hold. Oftentimes traditional books, especially hardback books, can become heavy and awkward to hold after a few chapters. When using an eBook, readers can often hold the device in one hand without maneuvering fingers to keep pages open. One swipe of a finger will turn a page of an eBook, holding the page open uninterruptedly. The size and weight of an eBook reader can be determined by the purchaser, and will be consistent with all of the books the purchaser chooses to read.
eBook Readers contain a built-in reading light. Frequently readers find themselves reading in low light, needing a nightstand lamp, which can bother sleeping spouses, or a book light, which may not be enough light for an entire page, causing the reader to move the light around while managing to keep the book in place to read. With an eBook reader, there is never the need for any outside light.
For those concerned with the carbon footprint left behind, eBook readers are more eco-friendly than paper books. Millions of traditional books are sold each year which contain billions of pages of paper. EBook readers use no paper. The eBooks on the readers are downloaded electronically, so there is no fuel used for distribution.
Portability is a wonderful perk of eBook readers. Some of these devices, such as Kindle, has room for 3,500 books, which means in a gadget smaller than most hardback books, a person can carry around his or her entire library. Instead of lugging around four or five books on vacation, people can carry one light-weight eBook Reader. Most eBook readers can fit into a small purse and some will fit into a pocket.
Many eBooks are free. Using websites such as ManyBooks.net (which has 28,000 titles), people can download free books. Amazon has 1.8 million out-of-copyright titles available for free. Many libraries have eBooks available to download anytime day or night without leaving your home.
There are countless other benefits of using eBook readers. Many provide free chapters to preview before buying an eBook, anti-glare screens for bright days, and built-in Wi-Fi. Some devices offer Text-to-Speech which will read content aloud. Numerous eBooks are less expensive than their paper counterparts.
With so many benefits to using an eBook Reader, it is worth your time to try them out. Remember there are many brands, each with features that coincide with price. It is best to consider what you are looking for, what is comfortable in your hands and what you want to spend before committing to a certain device. Happy eReading!
