Teaching Kids to Ride Bikes Without Stabilisers

Teaching your child how to ride a bicycle without training wheels is easy, and this can be done in a single day. All you will need is a wrench, some patience, and a gentle slope nearby and within a day or two, your child will be riding a bicycle like an old hand!
With this gentle, safe, and progressive method, your child will not need training wheels, because he or she will be in control of the bicycle at each and every step, and will not progress until he or she is ready to move on to the next step.
First, adjust your child's bicycle seat so that your child can sit in the seat and have his or her feet touch the ground firmly. Allow your child to walk the bicycle down the slope, sitting on the seat and practicing balancing the bicycle on the way down (they can also walk the bicycle back up this way).
When your child is confident, or bored, raise the seat up a little, and allow your child to again walk to the bicycle down the slope until he or she is confident.
Each time your child feels confident about their abilities on the bicycle, raise the seat a little. When your child's toes barely do not touch the ground when he or she is sitting on the seat, explain to them about coasting the bicycle down the slope.
When your child is confident about coasting, encourage them to pedal down the slope. Your child can still stop the bicycle easily and be in control of the bicycle. Once they have mastered this step, they are ready to have the seat raised to the appropriate height.
At this point, if you have not done so already, you must explain bicycle safety. Make sure your child understands where he or she is and is not allowed to ride, and practice evaluating traffic situations (have your child explain to you why it is or is not safe to ride in different situations).
Make sure that your child understands the importance of wearing safety gear, and teach them how to check the tire pressure and examine the gears, brakes, chain, and other parts of the bicycle each time before they ride.
By following this method, novice bicycle riders of all ages have been taught to ride bicycles without tears or falls, and without the inevitable disappointment that comes when you promise to hold on but can't run fast enough to keep up! Some children pick this up within a single day, and most will get the hang of riding a bicycle within two or three days. Good luck and happy riding!
Having two kids I know a thing or two about bikes and trikes. So I setup a toy shop as a part time jopb after I was tired of seeing the tat being sold in the locla Toys R Us. We specialise in traditional toys including balance bikes
