Select the best helmet based on the motorcycle helmet rating
In a recent survey, motorcyclists are selecting helmets only based on the motorcycle helmet ratings. There are various types of helmets available that differ with quality. The following are some the helmets that are rated by all motorcyclists regarding its strength as well as weakness. Motorcycle helmet rating is also done based on the quality as well. They are:
-
Helmets with full faced lids: These are the helmets that cover the entire head portion of the motorcyclist and they are considered as the most protective helmets when it is compared with all other types of helmets. They are available in a cheaper rate and it gives lot of discomforts like no possibility to turn back while riding, no proper view etc.
-
Helmets with flip type lids/ hybrid helmets: This is one of the helmets where the view will be clear on all sides but it is not covered with on all sides and the chin part is left uncovered. This helmet doesn't have a very good rating from the motorcycle helmet rating list because there is no complete protection and there are maximum chances to get severe injuries in the chin area.
-
Helmets with open face lids: This type of helmet is similar to full faced lids helmet that covers main areas of head like ear, skull and both sides of the face. Like flip type lids helmet, this open face lids helmet also doesn't have chin protection and also no eye protection. You need to wear eye glass for your eye protection. Majority of the motorcyclist do not prefer this type of helmet and it has got one of the lowest ratings in the motorcycle helmet rating list because they are not fully covered and there is maximum possibilities for insects, dirt and other impurities to enter easily in to the face.
-
Short helmets: This helmet is otherwise known as half helmets and it has no maximum protection on either both sides of the face or in the chin area. Like, open face lids helmet, Shorty helmets also have maximum possibilities of insects, dirt as well as impurities to enter in to the face. The most important thing is that you should require an eye glass for protecting your eye.
Out of all these helmet types, motorcyclists feel that full faced lids helmet is the best. Though, it has various discomforts, they cover the entire face and have maximum protection.
