Think about it, the behavioral traits of most teams, marketing, finance, sales, IT, etc are relatively the same. What is required to produce highly interactive, aesthetically pleasing and sound technical solutions are stereotypically very different types of individuals. Some companies think of those that have ART skills (designers) and those that have SCIENCE skills (developers).

Here at Amadeus Consulting, a custom software programming company, we think differently. We have individuals who understand, appreciate and have art AND science skills in both the design and development roles. Meaning there is art and science to design and an art and science to development. You take this philosophy and find people who have a passion around both and creative process and practices to help them succeed.

Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the developer and designer differences, it is what makes them uniquely great at what they do. But we also value and foster the developers who have design aptitude and designers that have technical aptitude to create the new Team. We understand and appreciate that respect and passion can overcome behavioral trait differences and can actually unify a team in a stronger way than like personalities. I am not a behavioral psychologist but I am guessing someone who has those skills would have a name for this.

So our Creative Team of Creative Designers and Creative Developers work together like parts of the same orchestra. The Creative Developer skills including interactive website development, programming languages like C#, Silverlight, and Java, and development process best practices. AND they have an aptitude and even more importantly a passion for a high level of visual appeal and customer interactive design.

Here’s an example of a Creative Development Success: The Denver Developmental Materials, a company that creates tests to assist in the early identification of childhood development problems, needed to take its legacy Denver II test into an online form. Many people told them that given the nature and complexity of the test, it was impossible to create. However, using Microsoft® Silverlight® a creative development tool, our custom software developers were able to do what others deemed impossible: take the Denver II test online, and far exceed our customers’ expectations.
