A Closer Look at Coffee Maker Warranties

Warranties on coffee makers for the home runs from a one year limited warranty to three years or more. But, what are the details of these warranties? Want a closer look? Here are a few warranty details that might interest you.
Black & Decker® and Farberware: Please consult the warranty located in the instruction manual included with your appliance or you may direct your questions to Applica, Inc. at 1-800- 231-9786.
Bosch: One year parts and labor through Bosch. However, one wholesaler adds another year that is a limited parts and labor warranty. Extra parts or a replacement part may or may not be a part of the limited warranty. Before you buy a Bosch product always check out the full details about the warranty at 1-866-442-6724.
Bunn: Bunn offers a three year replacement warranty for a new brewer. However, there are exceptions here. If in the later part of the three years a product is replaced or repaired an additional one year warranty will be added from receipt of the product. A one year warranty shall also take effect if a brewer is repaired or replaced after the original three year warranty has expired. In addition, Bunn offers a one year warranty for a remanufactured brewer. Thermal carafes have a one year warranty from original purchase or one year from repaired or replaced if made inside the original 3 year warranty of the brewer.
DeLonghi: Delonghi offers a one year parts and labor that warrants the appliance to be free from defects in material and workmanship. The warranty is limited to service at our factory or authorized service center of any defective parts or part, other than parts damaged in transit. If this happens the product must be returned prepaid for a replacement. This warranty only applies if the appliance has been used according to the instructions and used on AC only. Check your state law to see if incidental or consequential accidents apply or not. If they apply in your state; you are covered as well.
Call 1-800-322-3848 for appliance repair and pats department at 1-800-865-6330 for accessories, spare parts or replacement parts.
Hamilton Beach: Hamilton Beach/Proctor Silex warrants each coffeemaker or espresso machine to be free of defects in material and workmanship for two years from date of purchase. There is not warranty on glass parts, glass containers, nonstick sole plate or "cooking" surface. This warranty is only valid from original purchaser. Hamilton Beach also disclaims if incidental or consequential accidents. Other Hamilton Beach products may have only one year parts and labor through Hamilton Beach. Please direct warranty questions to Hamilton Beach at 1-800-851-8900.
Mr Coffee: Sunbeam Products, Inc offers a1 year parts and labor for all Mr. Coffee coffeemakers and espresso machines. The company warrants them to be free of defects in material and workmanship for one year from date of purchase. This warranty is only valid from original purchaser. Hamilton Beach also disclaims if incidental or consequential accidents. Again, check to see if your state allows incidental or consequential accidents. Call Mr. Coffee at 1-800-672-6333 for specific questions.
Pasquini, Rancilio and Saeco offer a one year parts and labor warranty. These companies warrant there espresso makers against all manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one full year from the date of purchase. Within this period of time, these companies will, at no charge, repair or replace necessary parts and labor unless otherwise specified. Plastic components are not covered under this warranty unless otherwise specified. Glass components are not covered under this warranty. Unless otherwise specified, shipping charges (to and from an authorized repair service) are the sole responsibility of the customer.
One thing not mentioned here is sending in the warranty or registration card. With some companies the warranty begins with the date they receive the registration card; others it is the date on the registration card. If the espresso machine is a gift, many companies will consider the warranty null and void unless you send in the registration card. If you have any questions, be sure and call the appropriate company.
