How to boot from CD/DVD/USB drive when you forgot Windows Vista password?

When you forgot Windows Vista password, you are often suggested to try Windows password reset software, which can help you reset Vista password by burning a bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive. Although there are various windows password recovery software, nearly all these password reset tools requires PC users to boot the locked computer from CD/DVD or USB flash drive during Windows password recovery. Windows Password Reset, Windows Password Unlocker, and other good Windows recovery software all need to boot BIOS from CD/DVD or USB when you forgot Windows Vista password.
Usually there is not a step-by-step guide to tell you how to boot computer from CD/DVD or USB drive in the answer about forgot Windows Vista password. For those who are good at computer, it is very simple for them to achieve it. But for those who have little computer skills, they will have no idea in mind without a detailed guide. So here I will show you how to set your locked computer to boot from CD/DVD or USB flash drive.
===Set BIOS to boot from CD/DVD
=Step 1: Start computer and press F2 or Delete to enter BISO setup during the initial startup screen.
Note: The key pressed to enter BIOS is different based on manufacturers, but F2 or Delete are the most common keys.
=Step 2: Use the arrow keys to select the Boot tab, and then select Boot Device Priority and press Enter.
=Step 3: Press enter on the highlighted 1st Boot Device and select CDROM from the menu.
=Step 4: Press F10 to save and exit any changes that you have made. Press Enter and the changes will be saved and you will exit the BIOS.
When your computer restarts, it will boot from the CD/DVD. And you can start to reset Vista password if you insert the burned CD/DVD in computer during forgot Windows Vista password recovery.
===Step BIOS to boot from USB drive
=Step 1: Start computer and press F2 or Delete to enter BISO setup during the initial startup screen.
Note: The key pressed to enter BIOS is different based on manufacturers, but F2 or Delete are the most common keys.
=Step 2: Use the arrow keys to select the Boot tab, and then select Boot Device Priority and press Enter.
Note: If you cannot find USB drive after entering Boot Device Priority, you’ll need to enter Hard Disk Drives to adjust USB to 1st Drive at first.
=Step 3: Back to Boot Device Priority, and you’ll find the USB drive. Choose 1st boot device to USB.
=Step 4: Press F10 to save settings. And the computer will restart with the changed settings automatically. And now you can continue to reset Vista password.
Don’t think it is very easy to set BIOS to boot from CD/DVD or USB? No need to worry about BIOS settings during Windows Vista password recovery. No need to reinstall your compute when you forgot Windows Vista password. When you can log on computer again, remember to create a password reset disk to in case of forgot Windows Vista password.
