When one thinks of a typical bbq, usually a large, cumbersome piece of apparatus comes to mind that takes hours to light and heat up and usually crisps the outside of the sausages to a blackened mess whilst leaving the middle still raw. These days are thankfully behind us now with the advent of gas bbqs, portable gas bbqs in fact. Now you can have a huge amount of fun with a simple to use gas bbq that you can take anywhere and lights quickly. No household should be without one as nothing quite beats a hot summer's day with friends and family around and a few steaks quietly sizzling on a bbq. With a beer in one hand, a burger in the other and good company around you, all feels right with the world.

The portability is a big plus of the gas bbq. This means that no longer are you restricted to having a bbq in your garden. Just because a bbq is portable, it does not mean that it needs to be small. Portable grills come in a range of sizes so whether you are cooking for 4 or 40, there is plenty of space available. Many of them also come with folding down sides too so there is even additional space in which to cook. With adjustable legs often a feature they can be placed on the ground or put on a table top so there is no bending down required.

Although a large number of people have bbqs in their home, they are being restricted by the immovable quality. A brick bbq may provide as large a cooking space as you desire, but it can't go to the party, the party must always come to it! This severely limits the number of times it can be used during the summer season. Another alternative bbq that is popular is the throw-away bbq. Yes these solve the portability problem, but they are small and do not last very long. They cannot be refilled either and once they are finished they are difficult to dispose of.

There are several different types of bbq but without a doubt portable gas bbq grills are the most flexible and therefore fun to use. Connecting the natural or propane gas to fuel them is easy as is lighting and using them to cook food. The same gas bottles can also be used to fuel gas patio heaters so once the bbq season has finished, the gas can be used elsewhere!
