The sand along the beaches in the Gulf of Mexico have experienced some of the worst of both nature and man. Oil spill have threatened them and storm surges from hurricanes have taken sand away. This means the ecology of the beaches is in a bit of danger and businesses that need the beaches to be open are suffering. However, lost sand can be replaced with white beach sand that is Florida-approved and the beaches can look and function just as good as they did before. This can be done through a process called beach nourishment. It basically means that you take sand from one location and place it at another. The white beach sand can be shipped in and blowers will effectively place the sand where it is needed. Great care is taken to make sure that the wildlife are not affected and can still have a viable food supply. Plus, the people will flock to beaches with white, sugary sand. This is the kind of sand that you see in brochures and on television that attracts the crowds from all over. If your beach has been depleted of sand either through man made or natural causes, then you should consider getting white beach sand today.

One thing you might also consider if you decide to choose white sands for your beaches is having some protection placed under the sand in case of beach erosion or a man-made disaster. Having HESCO® Concertainer® units installed under the sand can give your beach that stabilization it needs to hold up to the forces of nature which can erode a beach quickly. The HESCO® units can be installed quickly and require very little manpower. With a pyramid design with three rows stacked on top of each other, the units will protect the beach from erosion by providing a stable core that is needed in order to slow down the erosion process. Also, if you add agents like Enviro Bond 403™, you can stop oil spills from ruining beaches. The agent will transform oil into a solid upon contact. The units are permeable, so water and oil will soak through and reach the agent before it reaches the beaches.

If the beaches were affected by oils spills, clean up can be difficult. However, with white beach sand replacing it, you can have a nice, clean beach again that people will want to visit and wildlife can continue living on.
