Even having one of my favorite band T shirts that’s been washed too many times but yet it still rocks the message. And the message is made even stronger by the T shirt looking like it has been around long enough to be a hip antique.

You’ll even get people asking you where you got the really cool T shirts and some people will want to buy it off your back. And you definitely want to watch where you put your favorite band T shirts because they can disappear.

They’re almost like those famous paintings you read about that get stolen by some weirdo who just wants to own it so he can spend hours sipping a fine wine and drooling while he looks at some moldy masterpiece. Yeah, I can feel it. My ‘Stones 1978 T shirt is like that. I’m not sure it’s an original but it’s a classic to me. I can’t think of a week that goes by without me looking at in hanging in my closet.

I’ve worn it once or twice, but only to dress up at a really cool concert, no matter whose playing at the concert. Plus no really slammin’ band would feel dissed by a dude wearing a classic ‘Stones T shirt. I think they’d feel honored to have someone that cool for a fan that also digs their music.

So, to put into words what is the deeper meaning of band T shirts you’d have to go to a therapist. This is because there is definitely a deeper meaning to stuff like this. No one can honestly say that what they see happening when a fan freaks out and screams and throws stuff onto the stage or waits outside Best Buy from 2am until they open at 10 am just to get a CD that only has a couple of slammin tunes and doesn’t come with a free T shirt or anything free for that matter. This is not just a surface thing.

Band T shirts are clearly a part of a very personal experience that is definitely not connected solely to the image on the T shirt and the way it makes a person feel to wear it. Band T shirts are about coming of age. They are part of history and music and passion and all things tangible and intangible.

Band T shirts are personal and public and way more important than any fleeting thoughts or connections to anything less than a lasting bond to the band they represent.
