For anyone who owns an iPhone they know that there are numerous applications offered for the device, both free and for purchase. Applications are constantly in the news. Over the last year one that has had almost constant attention is the Google Voice application that disappeared and has now resurfaced again with two formats to choose from.
When Google Voice was first introduced a year or so back for the IPhone it was a challenge for many users. It wasn’t so much getting calls at a number that you can forward on to another phone; it was more so the fact that it was hard to make calls from that virtual number. This application promised to be one of the best iPhone Apps around, however as quickly as the idea was introduced, it vanished. It was rejected by Apple and that looked to be the end of it despite some encouraging iPhone App Reviews and iPhone Game reviews. Now this application is back in force with the launch of two Google Voice applications, namely Google Voice Mobile and Google Voice Connect.
The Google Voice Connect application will retail for around three dollars in most places and is essentially an application that assists you in dialing others with the use of your Google Voice number. This will mean that your Google Voice number is the one that shows up in the caller ID and not the actual one you are calling from. This is so that you can conceal your own number from others and remain anonymous or to standardize your communications from a range of phones. For these purposes alone it could turn out to be very popular indeed with consumers.
It has all the features that are standard with most dialer applications on the market. One of the features that are set to be a real favorite, however, is the call button. It is very easy to use and you can switch from one phone to another that you are using to forward the call on to. This is really useful when you discover that the reception you have on your phone is not good in the location where you are and you have another phone you can use that might be better. This adds that element of flexibility and you can make calls far quicker than before. There is a tab on the screen that shows which city you are calling and the local time at that particular destination. Additionally, in the top right of the screen you can see how much credit you have left available to you.
The second of these applications is Google Voice Plus which also retails at around three dollars like the first. One of the best things about this application is that it has a favorites tab so you can see your list of favorites on your phone. If you switch to contacts from the keypad on your phone then you have access to all your contacts you keep and also a tab of favorites.
If you have many accounts then you can simply switch between them all by tapping in the settings area. Additionally, there are other great features like the landscape support that you get through out use and the opportunity to set a default area code on the application. When you navigate to the voicemail list, you are presented with the name and number of the person who called and how long ago the message was left and the first line of that message.
