Did you know that October 16th, 2010 is National Bosses Day? Yeah, I didn’t either until I looked it up. I’m not exactly sure why it’s on a Saturday, but that’s neither here nor there. Anyway, National Bosses Day 2010 is a day to honor and thank your boss. It is generally not recommended to give your boss a gift unless you and group of employees get together to buy a gift. With that in mind, let this article serve as a sort of gift guide; I’ll give you some ideas of things you and your other employees can get your boss. Of course, it shouldn’t be anything to spectacular--just something that says "thanks" and "please don’t fire me." So without further ado, here is my MetroFlats.com National Bosses Day Gift Guide.
One good gift idea for your boss is a gift card. It’s not overly extravagant or expensive, and they always do a good job of saying "thank you." Now to me, the best kind of gift card you can get is one you can use on vacations. Luckily for you, MetroFlats.com is now offering gift cards! You and your employees can chip in to give your boss the perfect gift by saving him/her up to $600 on a vacation rental from MetroFlats.com. Our gift cards are redeemable with any of our properties, and using one will automatically sign your boss up with a MetroFlats.com account (which is free, by the way). Of course, you could get your boss gift cards for food or clothing, but those are fairly lame, don’t you think? If you are going to get your boss a gift card, you might as well make sure he/she gets something exciting from it!
But maybe you are the kind of person who doesn’t even want to spend any money on your boss. Maybe you don’t like your boss but would still make it seem like you do. Well never fear, this is where handmade gifts come in! You can make your boss a number of unique gifts for this unique holiday. You could make a cup holder, a cushion for the chair, maybe even a ceramic cup. And the best thing about a handmade gift? If you are good enough, your boss doesn’t even need to know you made it! For all they know, it was very expensive!
So Happy National Bosses Day 2010 everybody! Above all else, with all jokes aside, make sure you thank your boss. And if you do end up getting him/her a present, make sure you buy it with a group (it really doesn’t look good if individuals get their bosses gifts, even if it is well intentioned). If you are interested in getting your boss a MetroFlats.com gift card, simply follow the hyper-linked text and check them out.
