The Sony VAIO VPCW11S1E Netbook is a 10.1 screen mini laptop that provides a high-definition resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, which is truly a notch higher than other netbook computers sold in the market today. This mini laptop will surely become the constant travelling companion of more people, because of its sturdy and well-built frame. Here are the other note-worthy features of the Sony VPCW11S1E.
Much Cheaper Than The Nokia Netbook
The Sony VPCW11S1E is also much cheaper than the equivalent Nokia netbook, as the Nokia costs around £400, while the Sony VAIO netbook goes for just around £220. The netbook computer's battery life though is only around three hours, which some say is quite disappointing when compared to other netbook’s, which promise full daytime battery life.
Quality of Sound
The VAIO netbook's sound quality can be adjusted by simply pressing the Fn key, plus F3 to reduce the volume, and F4 to increase volume. The netbook’s volume range goes from quiet to exceptionally quiet, sound quality is deemed average and some users have complained of hearing a white noise-like hum. Some also complain that the sound quality is not too desirable, even when using headphones.
Equipped With A 250 GB Hard Drive
While most netbook’s do not offer much, in terms of resources, this Sony netbook comes with a 160GB hard drive and a spin speed of 5400 rpm. The netbook may also be upgraded to a hard disk capacity of 250GB.
The VAIO Runs Using The Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 Video Card
The Sony VPCW11S1E netbook is powered by the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 video card. It also comes equipped with a memory stick slot, SD card slot, a jack for headphones, a microphone jack, and an RJ-45 jack for connecting to the network. A 0.3 Webcam located on the display also provides maximum resolution of up to 640 x 480 pixels.
The netbook's installed programs include the VAIO Media Plus for Network, McAfee Internet Security Suite, which allows for 60 days for users to update the Antivirus, and the VAIO Recovery Utility, for HDD recovery. It also comes equipped with a battery which provides up to 2.6 hours of lifespan.
Powered By A 1.66 GHZ Processor
The Sony VPCW11S1E also features an Intel Atom 1.66 GHz processor N280 with enhanced Intel Speedstep technology, which indicates that the VAIO netbook is truly a small but powerful and truly fast netbook PC. The Sony VAIO netbook also includes the Windows XP Home operating software. This is not necessarily the most updated of operating systems. The netbook also includes software such as Windows Media Player (for audio, video, TV and photo) and VAIO Media Plus for home networking, as well as Adobe reader 9.
