My shoe size is a women's large 10, depending on style it can may be a bigger size. My 11 year old son has large feet and he's fitting into a men's size 12 shoe. Now, I'm beginning to find it hard to shop for him.

It can be very frustrating trying to find a large pair of shoes to fit big, large, narrow, wide or extra wide feet. Due to fewer styles of large shoes or sizes in our local stores.

What do you do when you cannot find large shoe sizes at your store?

This is how I use to shop

1. I would settle for a less desired style

2. Paid a much higher price for a larger size

3. Waited until my shoes had completely worn out and,

4. Purchased shoes that 'JUST' fit (which led to some aching and sore feet.)

I no longer shop this way anymore. Here are a few things before I shop that you can do too. Firstly, go to a reputable shoe store to measure your foot. (They'll use that funny long looking silver and black thing with numbers called a Brannock Device.)

Note your shoe size and return home.
