In the past, apartment buildings as well as a number of townhouses were once known as some of the most popular types of housing in the Philippines. Today, however, these types of housing are now outpaced by a new type of housing which rapidly gained a lot of popularity in the Philippines. These are condominiums.
A High-Rising Condominium
Condominiums are basically similar to apartment buildings in terms of physical form. The difference between condominiums and apartments, however, is with its ownership. The same building developed as a condominium (and sold as individual units to different owners) could actually be built someplace else as an apartment building (the developers would retain ownership and rent individual units to different tenants).
However, other than its form of ownership, there are also other reasons why condo in Philippines became popular, one such reason is its location. Similar to apartment buildings, as well as a number of townhouses, condominiums are mostly found in the heart of the busiest districts in the Philippines, which are business and commercial districts.
Because of its location, residents are given the luxury of living within walking distance from their workplaces as well as popular entertainment districts around the country, which is rare compared to houses. However, what made condo in Philippines more popular compared to apartment buildings, though these are much more affordable because residents would only have to pay rents, is its sheer numbers.
According to many real estate experts, the reason why condominiums became popular is because of its availability compared to apartment buildings as well as townhouses. Because of this, more Filipinos were given the freedom to choose which type of condominium best suits their needs.
Although found in one of the busiest districts of the Philippines, these types of housing can still offer the privacy and peace that residents are looking for in a home. According to many of its residents, living in high-rising condominiums can offer the best view of the city, particularly at night.
New Condominiums in the Philippines
Other than those condominiums found in business and commercial districts, many new condo in Philippines have been introduced which offers a more peaceful and relaxing environment compared to condominiums in the city. These types of condominiums are known as condominium complexes.
Condominium complexes are types of condominiums which aim to offer an environment suitable for a growing Filipino family. This is because most of these types of condominiums are found in the outskirts or even in the provinces. Because of this, condominium complexes are known for their wide open spaces as well as more peaceful environment compared in the city.
However, other than its wide-open spaces, condominium complexes are also known for its amenities in which many Filipino families can benefit from such as swimming pools, gyms, recreational parks, playgrounds, as well as a full-sized sports complex.
