Electric showers are a popular choice throughout the UK and beyond because they allow a bathroom to have a shower without the need for a conventional boiler or hot water system. There are a few different types of shower to consider when you are fitting a bathroom and this article acts as a guide to the options available and why an electric shower in particular might be the most appropriate course of action.
So what exactly is an electric shower? An electric shower only needs a cold water supply because the water is heated within the control box of the shower rather than heated from a boiler and then pumped through to the bathroom. People sometimes confuse electric showers with power showers, but power showers come with an integral pump that boosts the flow rate to provide a more powerful shower. An electrical shower needs a cold water supply and an electrical supply and with this can provide a very good shower experience.
Sometimes it is thought that the supply of water or the power of the flow is affected by having an electrical shower but this is not true. Far from it in fact, an electrical shower offers an excellent shower that can be enjoyed morning, noon and night. Before installing an electric shower it is important you are clear on the electricity capacity of your home because the kW can affect the type and size of shower that you purchase. The cheaper models of shower are usually white with a plastic casing, although there are chrome, glass and other modern and contemporary styles available.
The control box comes with dials to enable the right temperature and flow speed to be selected. There is normally a rise rail included which allows you flexibility to position the shower head at the right height. Some more expensive models come with additional sprays and features to provide the ultimate shower experience. Your own budget will play a big part in which model you choose. There is no doubt that electric showers are durable and economical to run. They often come with long warranties so make sure you find out how long yours in when purchasing one.
They are extremely friendly to the environment because they heat the water as and when it is needed. Traditional boilers keep the water heated continuously which uses far more electricity and therefore contributes to more fossil fuels being burnt in power stations across the country. It is not just the environment that is helped however as your own fuel and electricity bills will be kept to a minimum too.
If you are interested in purchasing an electric shower then you should first search online as it is here that you will find the best deals. There are many places to choose from for your showers and other bathroom equipment so suppliers keep their prices competitive. Because there are fewer overheads involved with online shops then these savings can be passed onto the customer. There are also plenty of extra deals to be found too so it certainly pays to do your homework before buying an electric shower of any kind.
Electric showers are perfect for houses that are unable to plumb their bathrooms into a boiler. Galaxy showers and the Triton electric shower in particular are well functioning and durable showers and make excellent choices for anyone wanting an electric shower. When you are buying any type of shower you should first search online as here there are big discounts to be had and bargains to be found. Far from being feeble, electric showers provide a powerful and good shower experience. There is nothing worse than a weak shower and investing in a high quality electric shower will ensure this isn’t the case.
