There are so many ways you can use fairy lights to dress up your home. Fairy lights are so versatile and flexible that you can do many different things with them and use them in a variety of different ways. This article looks at the different ways you can use them in the home and in the garden to bring it to life.
In the house, fairy lights are a great way in which to provide some extra light and make it look lovely at the same time. There is no doubt that fairy lights provide a nice glow that at night time can provide a very cosy and warm atmosphere. In the kitchen, fairy lights can look good at Christmas time when they are draped or strung up in front of shelves. This really helps bring the spirit of Christmas into the home. In the kitchen it often looks best having plain lights rather than coloured as it can look more stylish, but it is up to your own personal taste.
In the sitting room, fairy lights have a place all year round. If you don't have the luxury of atmospheric lighting or dimmer switches then using fairy lights can be a good alternative. They are not as bright as overhead lights so are perfect to be used at night time when you don't need bright task lighting but instead want some subdued and softer lighting while you eat dinner or watch television. The same is true in bedrooms. They provide perfect atmospheric lights and look really good when hung up on the walls or displayed elsewhere in the room.
There are plenty of other ways that fairy lights can be used in the home. Using them to light up pot plants or indoor trees is a great idea and brings the greenery to life. Just like Christmas trees, indoor plants can look really lovely when there is some type of fairy lighting displayed around the branches and leaves. Fairy lights can also be wrapped around mirrors and pictures on the wall. These types of displays are often only done at Christmas time which is a bit of a shame as they look good all year round.
The garden can also benefit from fairy lights. Nothing provides more of a party atmosphere than fairy lights and they can be wrapped around tree trunks, entwined amongst the branches in the trees or used to provide extra lighting in a BBQ area or patio. Having lights up will make your outdoor space come to life and you will want to do much more entertaining outside. If you invest in a patio heater too then your outdoor entertaining can long outlast the summer. Fairy lights can provide a starry canopy beneath a tree or be used as extra lighting over a dining table. There is no limit to how they can be used outside to make an impact. Be aware that you must use specialist outdoor fairy lights for this purpose however as indoor lights won't be able cope with wind or rain. If you don't have any electrical sockets either then you can use battery operated lights which work just as well.
There are no end of ways in which you can brighten up your home and garden with fairy lights. Rope lights can be wrapped around tree trunks, fairy lights can be strung up all around the house and curtain and garden lights can provide the extra special touch in your sitting room or bedrooms. Have fun with your lighting and you will eventually create the perfect display or just the right atmosphere you desire. You can only go as far as your imagination!
