Capri leggings are back in style and it looks like they’re here to stay. They look good under long tops and miniskirts, but for some people, this look can be hard to pull off. There are a lot of fashion blunders involving leggings, which is really unnecessary. They’re so easy to wear, but when paired with unwise fashion choices, results could prove to be disastrous. Here are a few fashion mistakes using leggings. Hopefully, you’ll be rocking your Danskin leggings in no time.

Legging Fashion Blunder 1: Wearing your leggings as pants

You can’t always wear what you see in the catwalk or fashion magazines. In day to day situations, it is not okay to wear leggings as pants. Almost all leggings are see-through. When the light hits the leggings, everything underneath can be seen. Some women can be seen walking around looking like they only have their underwear on. The truth is that leggings were originally worn as underwear. They made a jump to the couture section because they have the ability to add a unique flair to any outfit. However, they are meant to be worn under long tops that fall just underneath the waist. They look best under skirts, tunic tops, oversized tops, and short skirts or shorts.

Legging Fashion Blunder 2: Pantylines

The only thing worse than wearing your leggings as pants, is having your granny panty lines show at the back. If you are going to wear ultra-tight leggings as pants, you might want to consider thongs.

Legging Fashion Blunder 3: Wearing them too thin

Danskin and Capri leggings can be stretched out. They are skin tight. However, when they get stretched too much, they tend to become see through. The main purpose of wearing tights is to keep your body warm – not the other way around. See through tights completely defeats the purpose of wearing tights. When you stretch them out too much, they you might as well just have worn some dark leg stockings. It’s best to wear leggings in the right size to prevent this from happening. Usually, those who are a little heavier have this problem. Danskin plus size leggings are a great option so that you get full coverage.

Legging Fashion Blunder 4: Mid-calf Leggings

If you’re going to wear Capri leggings, wear ones that are mid-thigh or full length. Never wear mid-calf leggings. The truth is that they do not flatter anyone. They cut you off at the biggest part of your lower leg which can be pretty unflattering. It also crumples up the leggings, making them wrinkled – not a very good look. It cuts your leg, making it look short and stumpy. This length is only appropriate if you’re wearing boots with it – something to make the lines on your body smoother. If you’re going to wear your leggings underneath a dress or long top, stick to one that is full length. If you’re going to layer it with a skirt or short shorts, mid-thigh length is completely appropriate.
