Punk Rock bands are known for their ever changing line up of members like how girls change their clothes. This is true with the Misfits, their constant alteration of musicians and successful punk rock cds.
"Misfits" was found in 1977 in New Jersey with Glenn Danzig as singer and songwriter, Diane DiPiazza on bass guitar, Jimmy Battle on guitar, and Manny Martinez on drums. Throughout its first six years of existence the band had a lot of alterations in its musicians with Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only as the main stays. There had been 17 official musicians of the Misfits with 8 drummers as of the last count.
In 1983 the band was disbanded but was however resurrected in 1995. It took so long for this to happen because of the sequence of nasty legal battles for the right to use the name. And during the band’s hiatus, its effect in the punk rock genre has been firmly established. The Misfits are known to be the pioneers of the subgenre recognized as horror punk or death punk. This style mixes punk rock with other musical influences coupled with liberal doses of morbid imagery of death.
For its three decades of existence, the Misfits are considered to be one of the most productive and most influential rock bands in the industry. It launched 6 studio albums, 2 live albums, 4 EPs, 1 box set, 5 music videos, 1 DVD, and 12 singles. Here are the studio albums of the Misfits to date.
"Walk Among Us" This was truly the third of Misfit punk rock CDs to be recorded, the very first single was released in March 1982. "Earth A.D./Wolfs Blood," recorded in December 1983, this was the last one of the punk rock cds Glenn Danzig recorded with the band. The next album was "American Psycho" which was introduced in 1997. Then "Static Age" that was launched in its entirety in 1997 but first recorded in 1978. Along came the "Famous Monster," the original famous monster album before Lady Gaga’s. And finally "Project 1950," as the name implies, it is a cover of previous songs from the 50s to the 60s.
