Repairing, installing or painting a drywall is a job that requires long hours of overhead work. Unreachable by regular heights, a drywall is traditionally worked on by climbing a ladder. Working on a ladder can be cumbersome as the person has to get down the ladder to move it to the next area.
Aside from this, the time spent on the getting up or down a ladder contributes much to the daily in getting it done earlier. Workers have chosen to use a more practical approach to this problem. They can accomplish more finished drywalls at a lesser period of time by using drywall stilts. Drywall stilts cut down time and reduce movements compared to using a ladder.
Though drywall stilts cause slower strides in movement, it is still time-saving. But just like using ladder, one should be cautious around ones workplace not to step on things which may cause a fall. Remember that stilts also are to be used in plain or flat surfaces. Avoid using it on slippery or polished floors. When working with drywall stilts make sure you have your materials or tools with you (such as tapes, knives, drywall screw gun, hammer, and drywall sander) or within easy reach. You may have it in a belt bag around your waist or place them on a ladder beside you. Ladders still come in handy as an "assistant" in your work in this case.
Drywall stilts may seem more practical and easy to use but not all can use it. It is easy to the agile or those with a strong sense of balance. The heavily-built or those with health problems (such as vertigo, obese, and bone problems) are advised not to use it. In using the drywall stilts, mount the ladder fist to strap the stilts. Examine that the straps are snug and at the ankle and calf areas. Do a precautionary check on the safety status of your stilts before strapping.
See to it that the bolts and straps are firmly in place and in good working condition. In using drywall stilts, caution is the guiding word to avoid accidents or falls. Nonetheless, using drywall stilts is still the fastest and practical way to do your drywall installation, repair, or painting. Drywall stilts are available in department stores or you can order one online. Just remember that not all drywall stilts are of the same material so choose your drywall stilts carefully and properly.
When choosing dura stilts be sure that you do it carefully and properly to prevent accidents. It's true that your life depends on the quality of circus stilts that you use.
