Some people believe that bed bugs are so small that they cannot be seen by the naked eye. This is not the case, as some adults reach length of 4 to 5 millimeters (which translates into 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch). The bed bugs size is comparable to that of an apple seed. Since bed bugs are extremely shy and wary of others, an infestation of this insect is quite hard to pinpoint

When inspecting you have to look closely in crevices and small holes in the walls and on the floor, check beds and linens. Finding bed bugs is very tedious, on the part of the searcher.

If you do have them, you should get a treatment done and take every measure to seal every crack and crevice you should use a non shrink silicone caulk either in clear or white depending on where you are using it. Seal all moldings on floors and around windows and any cracks where they can nest. You should put child safety clear caps in any unused wall plug outlets. Use wide sticky tape, 2 way tape at the base of chairs, beds and all furniture they will stick to it.

There are many kinds of treatments some professional and some you can try yourself but you do need to take action for things not to spiral out of control.
