If you have a function or a wedding and would like to break away from the conventional traditional theme and rather go with an original idea, the marquee is the perfect canvas for your ideas.
If you rent a marquee tent without interior structural poles, you have a larger ground area with which to work. It will be more even with less clutter, making it easier to move around in.
You will have to choose your tent according to factors such as your theme, your color and how many people you would like to accommodate. You can move on from there deciding on your décor ideas.
Also, before you choose your marquee tent, there are other deciding factors that must be taken into consideration, being mentioned below:
Your Budget
Your budget should consist of the hiring of the tent, tables and chairs, lighting, cloths, flowers and arrangements, cutlery and crockery.
Wedding Marquee Size
It would help if you draw a floor plan of your marquee’s space. Add your tables and how you would need them to be placed, the band or DJ and the podium for the speaker or the host. The size of your tent will depend on the amount of people you would like to have attend.
Wedding Marquee Location
If the function is situated in a large open ground you might want to incorporate the space by having the panels off or at least the entrance panel. Then lay a carpet out onto the exterior so as to have the two flow into each other.
Wedding Marquee Theme
Now you can choose your theme for your function. It will depend on the formality of the function – choosing a clown theme will be less suited to your wedding.
Here are a few themes which you can incorporate into either a formal wedding or an informal staff party:
• Medieval banquet
• Hawaiian nights
• Turkish delights
• 60's - 80's theme
• Hollywood (or Bollywood) theme
It would be best to do your research to make it a professionally done, memorable evening.
Decorating of the Marquee
There are countless numbers of ways to decorate your marquee tent. It is up to your planning to choose the best possible one for your theme and needs.
Walls
Some marquees come lined and draped with silky fabric. They come in various forms being coloured, patterned or just plain. Unlined tents are plainer and less expensive. You could make use of lanterns, hanging decorations and drapes to liven up or add to the texture of the marquee walls.
Floor
Carpets can make the area feel warmer but could be impractical and expensive. Matting is a better option and hardwood flooring will offer luxury and style – but will definitely come with a price! If the base floor is hard, you could always leave it plain and if there is grass, try to hoist the marquee the evening before to avoid the dew making the grass wet.
Decorating the Poles of a Wedding Marquee
If the tent has poles, you could always wind leaves or flowers around them for a more dainty, classy look.
Marquee Hire is ideal when you are organizing an event or wedding. This creates an opportunity to host your function almost anywhere you want to.
