Duty free shopping offers travellers from around the world unbeatable savings and discounts off many highly desirable products and daily commodities.
Many different types of products can be obtained whilst travelling internationally at an airport’s duty free stores. Auckland airport in New Zealand provides the avid traveller and consumer numerous opportunities to purchase duty free. Some of these products include various cosmetics and skincare products, digital cameras and other electronic goods such as mp3 music players, audio equipment, video gaming consoles, video games and other technology products. Also found in duty free stores are lifestyle products such as fine fragrances, including eau du toilette and perfume for men and women.
Many makeup and beauty houses have their entire collection on offer for travellers, allowing them to purchase any one or multiple items at a discounted price to the purchaser. One aspect of purchasing various makeup and beauty products unique to duty free stores is the limited edition products and travel size items that beauty houses create, which are unavailable anywhere else. These unique purchases can often have limited availability, so travellers are urged to purchase immediately; otherwise they may miss the opportunity and become disappointed when they find that a particular product line is not available in retail stores.
New Zealand’s duty free allowances, compared to the rest of the world, are some of the most generous. However, there are restrictions and each adult traveller can import only a specific amount of particular products without having to pay an excess fee. These restrictions apply to the duty free shopping at New Zealand international airports, and travellers will be asked to declare any excess duty free on arrival.
When purchasing any duty free product, New Zealand international airports present a premiere shopping destination for any traveller. Duty free shopping is available in the main international departure terminal before entering customs, with a second duty free store also available for travellers who have already entered, and subsequently passed through customs. Once a duty free purchase is made the traveller will be given a copy of their receipt which provides details of their purchase. These receipts can then be used when the traveller who made the purchase, goes to collect their duty free purchases at the separate collection area.
The various brands and products available at duty-free New Zealand airports can be viewed and purchased online too.
