There are many times besides the winter holiday season that make great correspondence opportunities. Not only are photo greeting cards fun to make, but the people you send them to are sure to be delighted at the thoughtfulness and an inside view of the family in the photographs chosen to create these holiday cards. Many of us have received and saved these types of mementos that feature pictures of family members. It is a wonderful way to see how people have changed over the years and how families have grown.
There are many other ways that family changes can be shared with others. Simply take a handful of photographs and a few minutes on the computer with a company that offers online photo greeting cards and create unique layouts, personalized color schemes, and a genuine message of love and affection. Everyone expects holiday cards around Christmas time. Imagine their delight and surprise at receiving one in the middle of summer, simply because you care!
The easiest way to select a theme is to look to the various holidays throughout the year: Thanksgiving, Easter, Valentine's Day, Mother's or Fathers' Day, and Halloween are all very popular, and they lend themselves to themed correspondence. Other ideas worth considering are birthdays, graduations, summer or winter solstices, spring or autumnal equinoxes, or just because! If you happen to notice that the calendar has a special but obscure or little-known holiday marked, such as Compliment Your Mirror Day (July 3rd) or Best Friends Day (August 15th), it can be used as an excuse to create and send out memorable and unique correspondence.
A Handful Of Humor
Every family has photographs that can make others laugh out loud. These make excellent additions to correspondence. Whether it is a young child in a how-in-the-world-did-they-do-that pose, a pet cat curled up in an empty fishbowl, or hauling in that monstrous (three-inch long) fish from the local pier, humorous letters are always welcome. They add joy to an otherwise average day and let others know that they are thought of and cared about.
Thankful For Holiday Cards
Thanksgiving is perfectly suited to sending photo greeting cards. They can provide humorous or more traditional family photographs and personal messages about how you are thankful to have these individuals in your life. Thanksgiving provides a great opportunity for reaching out across the years and the miles to let others know that you care.
Family Fondness
Mother's and Father's Days are other examples of good times to send correspondence. All family members both near and far, will be delighted to receive a collage of family photographs nestled in custom-designed, high quality stock, whatever the relationship. The first Sunday after Labor Day is National Grandparents Day, while Aunts and Uncles' Day is July 26th, to give you some ideas.
Halloween Holiday Cards
Halloween is fun for kids of all ages and photo greeting cards geared toward Halloween are especially fun to receive. Parents and spouses can dig through Halloween pictures from past years to find a fun collection of photographs to incorporate. Halloween motifs can be used on the correspondence along with a catchy phrase about how 'It's been so long, it's scary!'
A Better Birthday
Normally, one expects to receive correspondence on their birthday, but the event can be turned around by sending out photo greeting cards on your birthday to let others know what has been happening, what goals are being worked toward, and how you are feeling on your special day. Birthday photos from across the years can be incorporated or pictures of memorable events from the previous year can be used.
Of course, Christmas holiday cards are the epitome of correspondence. Gold glitter, reds and greens, evergreens, Santa and his elves, and Nativity scenes all grace the fronts of boxed sets on every store shelf, starting in late October. Instead of sending the same thing as everyone else, family photographs can be incorporated into a template, using the color scheme of choice, and featuring a personalized message.
Creating these treasured mementos does not require any special skills or a huge budget. Scan or upload photographs into your computer, select an online template and color scheme, add the pictures to the template, and then grace your creation with a personalized message in the font of your choice. In only a matter of minutes, truly unique photo greeting cards can be created, unlike any other, at any time of year!
Chris Harmen enjoys sending photo greeting cards throughout the year to family and friends, instead of only using holiday cards once a year.
