The shawl word came from Persian language word shal, which means a whole range of fine woolen garments. In Pakistan and across Kashmir, shawl is worn across the shoulder, not like in Persia. He also encouraged weavers to try new motifs, this helped in establish a successful shawl industry.
Since after that shawl or shoulder mantle exist in sub continent in different forms and serving the rich, poor as protective garment against cold weather. A cashmere loom is really a little orchestra and each shawl an art of colors combination. The Cashmere shawl craftsmanship goes back at least five hundred years. It uniqueness lies in combination of factors which make this impossible to duplicate anywhere else. Cashmere Valley is part of the state of Azad Cashmere in north of Pakistan. This work of art is produced by three brains, first is the designer, who design these beautiful shawls, next is the copier, who prepares the pattern for use in the workshop, and the last one is weaver. Colors combination and design is essential and each is prepared in different colors combination.
