When it came to bathing for luxury I very much doubt that no-one in history is as famous for this as Queen Cleopatra VII who was renowned for apparently bathing in milk.
Famous for her beauty she was also said to have the most gorgeous, soft skin. It is known now that there is actually evidence that milk can be used as an anti-ageing product as milk and derivatives of milk contain something called lactic acid and this gently exfoliates your skin.
Queen Cleopatra VII was also rumoured to have taken more than one bath in milk per day and it is believed that this was her very own concoction and was used by her as a way of maintaining her beauty.
If you would like to try this famous way of bathing simply add around 2 pints of milk to the bathwater, pouring into the flow of water from the faucet. Not only does this method work to cleanse and exfoliate your skin but is also an inexpensive beauty treatment. Try for yourself and see how soft and supple your skin is afterwards. Another more indulgent way of doing this is to dissolve 3 tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda and 2 teaspoons of salt in half a cup of warm water allowing them time to dissolve. To 2 pints of milk add 3 tablespoons of honey and allow the honey to dissolve into the milk. Add the bicarbonate of soda solution into the milk solution and mix well. Ensure all the ingredients have dissolved and then pour this solution into the flowing hot bath water at the faucet. For extra effect add rose petals to the water before stepping in.
Of course depending on the bath you use the results may vary. You may even want to get your partner to join you in this luxury indulgence. If you have an extremely large tub then you could invite friends around to join you and bathe in your bikinis in the milk. Who knows you may even become famous for your anti-ageing parties. Of course a good chatter with friends is also an excellent way to quash those work-day blues and what better way to do that than to be surrounded in milk at the same time. Just ensure you’re not the one who has the faucet jammed in your back!
The last Pharaoh of Egypt, Queen Cleopatra VII was not actually an Egyptian but was in fact Macedonian and was born in Alexandria in 69 B.C and was also the only member of her family that could actually speak Egyptian.
In this day and age we often look to celebrities for hints and tips regarding beauty advice and treatment and even though Queen Cleopatra VII ruled hundreds of years ago her beauty treatment of bathing in milk is still used widely today. In certain spas around the world a milk bath is offered as a beauty treatment for the skin and is still a popular method of sheer indulgent relaxing.
Bathing just got beautiful.
