The best running shoes are just a hop skip and a jump or sprint away. This article will give you a rundown of what's available. Many varieties of running shoes are available from well known companies. To say one brand is better than another would be difficult. It's hard to classify them because every person is unique and has different likes and dislikes.
"Best" for one person may not be the best choice for another. There are certain criteria to look for when selecting the best running shoes to fit your needs. Here we will talk about several different shoes in the categories of motion control, stability, and cushion. We will also discuss three popular brands: New Balance , Nike, and Adidas .
Best Running Shoes for Motion Control
New Balance 767: This shoe was named "best update" by Runner’s World. The editors of the magazine said this shoe is "Recommended for runners with low to normal arches looking for an everyday trainer."
Every pair of New Balance shoes is designed with several technologies specific to the brand. These running shoes have the lightweight Acteva mid-sole that resists compression as well as a dual-rubber outsole for greater wearing durability. These trainers have the Stability Web System, Abzorb cushioning in the forefoot and heel and a Strobel Board.
Overall customer satisfaction with the New Balance 767 is 4.5 out of 5 stars. Prices range from $60 to $70 with most retailers.
Best Running Shoes for Stability
Adidas Response Control 6: This shoe is a lightweight Pro-Moderator that makes for a good running shoe. The Response Control is designed for someone who trains every day. They sport an air mesh for more ventilation.
The shoe is made with adiPrene to protect from impact forces that are harmful. adiPrene also provides stability to the forefoot propulsion for efficiency. Built in the shoe is also a Torsion System and adiWear outsole for midfoot support and durability.
Overall customer satisfaction with the Adidas Response Control 6 is 5 out of 5 stars. Prices range from $50 to $70.
Best Running Shoes for Cushioning
Nike Air Pegasus: These running shoes were built with neutral to under-pronator enhanced cushioning. They are made with open mesh to promote breathing and comfort as well as overlays to provide additional support. The overlays are made for a secure fit, to be snug, and stable.
This shoe is also equipped with the OrthoLite sockliner with Heel Cradle to provide added comfort and fit to support the bottoms of an athlete's feet. This brand also has the Rideliner Footbed, which is designed for a softer, more cushioned feel. Alongside the Ridliner for cushioning is the Air-Sole and crash pad designed to absorb shock.
Average customer satisfaction with the Nike Air Pegasus is 4.6 out of 5 stars. Prices range from $70 to $90.
Things to Keep in Mind
Again, keep in mind that what's best for one person may not be the best for another. The shoes mentioned above all have qualities that fit into each category of cushioning, stability, and motion control. It's just a matter of personal needs and likes when you select a running shoe.
Simply put, you should always try on any shoe you plan to purchase. Think about your foot and your needs. Try on different sizes and brands. Every shoe company designs at least one shoe that will probably fit your needs in terms of comfort and support, but price may be out of reach. Taking that into consideration, it's always best to find the time to try on a variety of shoes and choose the pair that best suits your needs.
