Thanks to the constant barrage of 'celebrities' being churned out by low budget reality shows, it's becoming harder to define what an icon actually is.

The conveyor belt of fame-hungry wannabes that have been dumped on us over the last ten years has significantly devalued its meaning. Getting your picture splashed across the front page for simply forgetting to put your knickers isn't uncommon despite its constant vomit inducing qualities.

What happened to following the every word and fancy of a real idol? We prefer the genuine talent and staying power of the old school superstar.

So, to reject this influx of fakery my list of famous phone users ignores anyone who has ever fleetingly stared in Big Brother, I'm A Celebrity, Strictly Come Dancing or The Hills and instead focuses on those who are genuinely worthy of our adoration and borderline obsession.

BlackBerry Torch 9800

Demi Moore

Despite their famous alliance with the majority of celebs before the iPhone reared its head, RIM have had some stiff competition from Apple since their cult smartphone hit the market in 2007.

The majority of 'cool' stars have ditched their CrackBerry habit for Steve Jobs' newest member of the i family.

Having Hollywood icon Demi onboard is a very strong endorsement from the undisputed queen of Twitter. Demi rightfully lays claim to this dubious honour thanks to over 3 million devoted followers that hang on her every Tweet.

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 was the world's first smartphone to incorporate touchscreen technology with a full slider QWERTY keyboard. Perfect for the impulsive Tweeter, it's no wonder Demi updates so damn much; it's effortless with the latest BlackBerry.

Despite her acting waning, Mrs Ashton Kutcher still retains her credibility and star power, so BlackBerry must be pretty pleased with themselves for snagging such an influential fan.

Barack Obama

It's no secret the President-Elect has a major CrackBerry habit. Obama's public declarations of affection for his BlackBerry are said to be providing RIM with free publicity worth up to £33million. Now that's a tasty piece of endorsement.

Considering this is the most powerful man on the planet, it's hardly surprising that millions of consumers take notice when Barack says he trusts his BlackBerry over any mobile on the market - and we all know he could take his pick.

Granted, it would be ever so slightly insulting to merely refer to the President of the United States as a celebrity, but Obama's popularity runs deeper than his power as a Politian. He is a popular and prominent personality with huge influence and clearly quite a head on his shoulders. So when he says BlackBerry's the best who are we to argue?

HTC Evo 4G

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey - global phenomenon and the woman who can do no wrong in the eyes of her millions of fans. Every brand knows that endorsement from the Queen of Chat guarantees your product will be flying off the shelves within minutes.

The mobile phone world went into meltdown earlier this year when Oprah was papped with the hotly anticipated HTC Evo 4G before it had even been released. The queen of, well everything it seems, is so powerful that she can get her hands on new technology before supposedly invented.

Unfortunately, due to lack of 4G connectivity in the UK, Blighty can't enjoy this handset yet so we will just have to enjoy the current influx us exceptional smartphones HTC has been unleashing on the market.
