So, you're ready to redo your bathroom flooring. That's great news! You'll be improving the look of your entire room, by simply changing one aspect of it. Let's look at what bathroom flooring tile types are available for you to select from.
Ceramic Tile - This is a very popular choice because it's available in a wide variety of colors and patterns, it's a durable quality tile, and is fairly reasonably priced. It is extremely important that this bathroom flooring tile is properly installed, or you may have an issue with moisture control.
Laminate - There are many benefits to laminate flooring. It is the least expensive, the easiest to install, and available in an enormous selection of patterns and colors. Laminate flooring is a popular choice for bathroom flooring because it's easy to keep clean, and works in most decors.
Carpet - For obvious reasons, carpet isn't a popular choice for bathroom flooring. However, there are some pros to it's use. With carpet flooring, homeowners never have to feel a cold, hard floor again. It eliminates the need for mopping, and is available in many textures and colors. When installing carpet in the bathroom, it's important to select a mildew and stain resistant brand, with a strong backing.
Hardwood - Hardwood flooring provides beautiful and natural looking coverage. It emits a feeling of comfort and tranquility in any room, even a bathroom. Hardwood flooring is fairly simple to maintain, is available in a variety of stains, and will compliment any home decor.
Once you select the proper bathroom flooring tile for your job, you'll need to decide if you'll be installing the flooring yourself, or if you'll hire a professional to do the job. With most flooring purchases, installation is provided for an additional cost. You may be tempted to do the job yourself, but unless you have a background in contract labor, or even some experience with home repair, this is a job that may be best left to the professionals. Depending on which materials you have selected, the installation can get complex. Specific tools and techniques will be required to have your bathroom flooring looking it's best.
The upkeep of your finished bathroom flooring tile should not require much work. If you have selected laminate or ceramic tile, you can get by with a mixture of warm water and vinegar. Carpet will simply require a quick vacuuming, and hardwood flooring can be maintained with a professional wood floor cleaning product.
