If you have a large or custom fitted shower, you may need to invest in an extra wide shower curtain so that your entire shower is covered. You may also want one just to make sure no water splashes out of the shower, or because you think it will look better than your typical standard curtain.
An extra wide shower curtain may be a little bit difficult to find in the shower curtains section of the store. A good way to get one is to have it custom made to fit in your bathtub. But before going through the hassle of creating your own custom one, make sure you go to a couple of different stores and check the measurements on a bunch of different curtains. Also be sure that you take the measurements of your shower first so that you know right off the bat whether or not the curtain will fit in your own shower.
If you are still unable to find one in the stores, then you are left with the only option of having one custom made for you. To do this, you can look around for a tailor who can sew one for you, or if you know how to sew, you can actually make one yourself. This shouldn't be too difficult as the shape is pretty straight forward in most cases and doesn't require any fancy sewing. Depending on your level of proficiency, you can create a very unique and detailed curtain or a very simple and straight forward one.
Once you've determined whether or not you will need to get a custom made extra wide shower curtain, you can start thinking of different style possibilities. To do this, you may want to look around at the other pieces of furniture throughout your house as well as the different color schemes throughout your home to give you a little bit of inspiration regarding how you want your new shower curtain to look like. The style possibilities are endless and you can choose from a variety of different styles and color schemes. You will even have a bigger variety of choices to make if you get a custom one made. Perhaps you can have a picture of your favorite singer printed on it, or if it will be installed in a children's bathtub then you can print their favorite cartoon characters on it. Your imagination is the only limit when you are designing a custom curtain.
An extra wide curtain may be a little more difficult to find and choose than the standard ones because the chances are higher that an extra wide one will need to be custom made as it is not readily available. However this isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it gives a great opportunity to get those creative juices flowing and create a custom curtain that will dazzle any guests you have come over to your home. Either way, be sure to have fun and do a little research before you make any decisions.
