In today’s world, consumers are looking for ways to improve their driveways, patios, and walkways. There is an increase in the type of material that is being used to complete this task; this material is none other than pavers. No matter if it is concrete, brick, or stone, people are flocking to the usage of pavers. Here is a list of the many other places that you will find pavers at: terraces, pool deck areas, gardens, sidewalks, entrances, courtyards, & internal settings.
Pavers offer the home or business owner 3 important features: They are strong in their makeup, they are extremely durable and they are affordable; which is very important in today’s environment. Another great benefit is that individual pavers can be replaced at anytime, for any reason; thus making repair extremely trouble-free while keeping the cost down.
In addition to the type of pavers mentioned above, here is a small list of other common types: Travertine, Granite, Mexican, Sandstone, Grass-Turf, Bluestone, Flagstone, Rubber, and Antique.
-
Travertine: These are great to use around the pool area. Their main benefit is that they will stay cool and thus make it very easy to walk on. Since they have a non-slip surface finish, they are extremely harmless for almost anyone to walk on. Travertine pavers are very durable and their colors will not fade over time.
-
Granite: Simply put, Granite is one of the strongest stones out there; thus making them very hard to damage. So if you are looking to put paver in an area that has high traffic, then this would be a great choice.
-
Mexican: This type of paver is hand-made clay and has a soft consistency. They vary in color and come in different shapes and sizes.
-
Sandstone: Basically, this type of paver is made up of sedimentary rock. Since they have porous stones, they can store large amount of water. This means that they can endure time and wet weather. The main benefits of Sandstone are the following: Resilient, easy to install, broad range of applications, and they last for a very long time.
-
Grass-Turf: They are hollow pavers that you used for the construction of porous pavements. Their main benefit is that they are environmentally friendly. This is achieved by the storm water runoff that is recycled, rather than going into our waterway systems.
-
Bluestone: This type of paver is a natural stone. Their main benefit is that they are a very adaptable stone and easy to install. They are also durable and last for long periods of time; thus being great to use outdoor.
-
Flagstone: This type of paver application is very versatile and can be used indoors and outdoors without the need for concrete. A very attractive feature of this type of paver is that they will not weaken in harsh weather conditions.
-
Rubber: This type of paver provides a high level of safety. You will find them located in nursing homes, playgrounds, gyms, day care center, and anywhere else that the increase incident of falls can take place. They have a greater slip resistance and shock absorption than other pavers. This is because it keeps water from making an impact on its surface.
-
Antique: This type of paver is a common choice for many people. They create a weathered look of a time long ago.
