What do you look for in Italian Restaurants while in Auckland, New Zealand? Italian Restaurants originated from poor immigrants from southern Italy who had the entrepreneurial spirit and decided it would be a good idea to open up Italian restaurants for people to enjoy. These restaurants serve large portions at low prices that guarantee you your favorite foods filled with robust flavors.
All of these dishes are based on home cooking, including the pasta which is a paste or dough item that is made from flour and water. Spaghetti, which is originated from the word spego (meaning string) is a typical pasta that you will find in Italian restaurants. Another type of pasta that is very common nowadays is macaroni and it comes in a tubular form. Ravioli pasta stuffed with cheese originated in northern Italy and is a delight enjoyed by everyone worldwide, including Italian restaurants in Auckland, New Zealand.
Pizza, on the other hand, is native to Naples and during World War II many American soldiers learned to enjoy it there. This is what popularized the particular food item and made it a worldwide phenomenon not long afterwords.
Pizza is now part of a fast food chain since it's grown so much in popularity. It made many franchise owners millionaires over the last 5 of 6 decades.
But those types of restaurants are not really the norm. The independant Italian restaurant owners are what drive the Italian restaurant business.
Some of the most popular dishes served up at Italian restaurants are listed as follows: spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmesan, meatball parmesan, linguine with clam sauce, penne vodka, and macaroni with meat sauce just to name a few.
