For many gardeners that spend a lot of time outside, it is always nice to have a place to store those precious tools that we all tend to need and use on a regular basis. However, having a place to store them may be a challenge. Thus resulting in a place that we as gardeners can not really consider as a place of our own, usually its our husbands garage where they like to spend their time.

Today, you can actually find great deals on gardening workshops. For example there are many places that are carrying small green houses that you can build in a matter of hours in your own back yard. These structures, have enough room that you could actually place a small table in for work space. This is nice to have, you don't feel like you have to clean up every little speck of dirt as you may think you have to working at say your picnic table or other outdoor table that is used by the entire family.

If this is not a viable option, you can actually create your own garden workshop area to include a small shed for storing items that you may frequently use or feel they need to be protected from the weather.

Have an old table that isn't in use? Set this up as your personal planting station. Next to it place a small outdoor cabinet that can hold your gardening tools, seeds, extra potting soil, etc. The small sheds start at a cost of around $100.00 and increase from there. It is a small investment, for someone who does spend a lot of time outside and well worth it. You can have an organized space with out taking up to much space in your yard.

This also works well for apartment dwellers that may have a balcony. By having a small work area, you increase your outdoor activity. With limited space on a balcony, you could use an old trunk to place items in and still use a small table off to the side. A simple cushion that can be made out of an old plastic table cloth and stuffing will make an excellent seat on top of the trunk. This gives the space a more functional use.

There are also a lot of great metal storage sheds that can be purchased at many home improvement stores. These sheds can also be turned into the ultimate garden shed workshop. Again, keeping things as simple as possible, you can set up a small table area for potting your flowers, place some shelves near by for storing extra pots, seeds and tools. Depending on the location, you could eve set up electricity in this type of unit. The electricity could then be used to set up a specialized growing station, if you wanted to get a head start on the growing season for your area.
