The best way to clean your oven
Oven cleaning is an important part of house cleaning.
We all have hard time when cleaning oven. The following methods will make your work easy. You need to identify the type of your oven before cleaning it. Read manufacturer's instruction carefully, since different type of the ovens requires different cleaning methods, fail to do this could damage your oven.
What you need:
Chemical resistance gloves
Damp cloths or sponge
A large tub
Plastic scrub pads
Oven cleaner, baking soda, or white vinegar.
Before you start, make sure the room is well ventilated, because oven cleaner will build up toxic fume, it will cause harm to you and your family.
Firstly, you need to clean the oven racks, take them out, soak them in hot water tub, add some soap or chemical cleaner in the water, set for at least 30 min. You can leave the alone, start to clean the rest of the oven. Once you have finished, you can use plastic scrub pad to wipe down racks, dry them off and put them back to the oven.
Secondly, wipe down the inside of the oven with plastic scrub pad, remove any stain and loose carbon, you may need some muscle in this process. Do not use metal pad, it may scratch surface.
Thirdly, for self-cleaning ovens, apply the self-cleaning cycle to the oven, after the program is complete, you wipe down the residue with sponge or damp cloth. You also need to wash the oven door with glass cleaner, make it shiny. At this stage, you need to pay attention to the rubbery gasket that seals the door, do not scrub it, clean it with water.
If your oven is not self-cleaning type, you need to rely on powerful oven cleaner. Make sure you have rubber gloves to protect your skin from toxic chemical, apply the oven cleaner to the interior of your oven, leave it on for three hours. After that, scrubbing hard and rinse throughout. Be aware to make sure all the chemical cleaner is removed completely before use.
Notes:
The aluminium foil can be placed to the bottom of the oven as a prevention method to ease your next cleaning job.
Baking soda and white vinegar are non-toxic cleaner for house cleaning. Mix baking soda with white vinegar, apply them to the interior of the oven, set for three hours, then wash with sponge and water. Them can be used for regular cleaning.
