The purpose of an auto scrubber is to wet the floor, scrub the floor and dry the floor. Tornado accomplishes this well with their EZ floor keeper line. The EZ floor keeper is one of the best auto scrubber's on today's market. The EZ floor keeper comes in many different models. The EZ floor keeper comes in a 20 inch brush assisted version, a 20 inch wheel drive version, and a 24 inch wheel drive version. When using the wheel drive versions inclines can be cleaned easily and safely.
The EZ floor keeper features a 13 gallon solution tank and 13 gallon recovery tank making it a great choice for cleaning up to 30,000 square feet. The machine can be easily converted from using floor pads to using brushes. The brush motor spins at 200 RPMs making this the perfect machine for cleaning, scrubbing and stripping floors. On the traction drive model the pad pressure can be adjusted from 65 pounds to 85 pounds. This can come in useful when stripping older floor finish from floors. Pads, brushers and wearable Tornado parts can be easily changed by raising the front brush mechanism and unclipping the pad or brush. The brush assembly is surrounded by a splash guard to prevent water or stripper from spraying out against walls. Guide wheels on either side of the brush back and guide the machine down walls to get as close to the baseboard as possible.
The vacuum system on the Tornado EZ floor keeper is second to none. This machine features a three stage, 3/4 hp motor that provides 71 inches of water lift. Using this vacuum motor system the floor keeper leaves floors dry and clean. A 28 to 32 inch squeegee trails behind the machine and does a great job at picking up even the largest amount of water. The trailing squeegee features to side guide wheels to get as close to baseboards as possible leaving no water splash behind the squeegee. The squeegee easily breaks away from the machine if it is caught on doors or obstacles leaving the machine intact with no damage. Squeegees are inexpensive and can be easily replaced on all Tornado floor keeper models.
The floor keeper auto scrubber utilizes a 24 Volt battery system giving it ample power and runtime. It uses 4, 6 Volt batteries giving it about three hours of runtime on a single charge. The unit can use both the gel and wet batteries making it a versatile machine for many different types of institutions. The charging unit is off board making the machine lighter and easier to operate. The battery compartment can be accessed through the top of the machine making it easy to fill the batteries if needed.
The control system on this auto scrubber is easy to use and fun to work with. Simple switches are used to control the brush and vacuum system and are labeled nicely. A speed control dial is used to adjust the speed of the machine on traction drive models. The machine travels at 200 feet per minute in forward and 150 feet per minute in reverse. A forward and reverse shifting handle is used to make the machine go forwards and backwards. A large battery level gauge is used to tell you how charged the batteries are and give you an idea of how much floor you can clean.
Overall the EZ floor keeper is the perfect piece of floor equipment for cleaning larger areas. Unlike competing manufacturers replacement Tornado parts are easy to find are are inexpensive. This machine is quiet enough to be used in a retail environment with customers around. This unit can be used on many types of flooring including tile, concrete, linoleum and rubber floors. With a front mounted warning light this machine is ideal for heavy traffic areas and industrial applications. This machine also works great on marble floors and is perfect for cleaning multiple flooring jobs.
