Stepping out of a limousine in front of a crowd is an exhilarating experience. It makes you feel glamorous, makes the whole day or night a luxurious experience. That is why people prefer to rent limos for their special events, like the prom or a wedding. That leaves many wondering though, how much does it cost to rent a limousine for an event? Here is a look at the different factors involved in the cost.
Location of the limo company as well the company itself is the biggest factor. Prices vary from place to place and in some cases usually are more affordable than using taxis when you have a large party travelling together. To help determine the price, you first have to determine how many people are in your party so you know what size limousine to rent.
Today, companies offer six different types of limousine for rent. You can choose from the Cadillacs or Lincoln Town cars, as well as luxury sedans and stretch sedans. They also provide stretch limos to hold 6, 8, 10, or 12 to 18 passengers at a time. The Hummer or stretch SUV are among the highest priced in limos because their availability is limited. When looking for maximum comfort, rent one that has seating for one or two more people than you have in your party.
The number of hours you need the car for will also factor into the cost. The majority of companies will have a set minimum of two or more hours of rental time. The expenses and cost involved in servicing the vehicles is rather high, and renting for less than two hours will not cover those costs. Included in those costs is the time for preparing the vehicle and the salary for the driver.
Certain times of year call for a high demand for limo rentals, such as prom season. Many people want limos for their prom nights, so it is considered a high demand season, and the prices generally go up as well as the minimum rental time. Other events also affect price, like weddings. Usually though, you can get a deal with a company if you rent more than one limousine at a time.
The hours you pay for also include the hours you are not inside the car. This means if you rent a car to take you to a fancy event, while you are inside, you will be responsible to pay for the time the limo waits for you. This is because the limousine cannot be used for another event or situation during that time, so while it waiting for you are charged for that.
Pricing can also depend upon when the actual hourly charges start. Every company has a different policy on when they begin charging for the use of one of their cars. Some will begin to charge you as soon as the car arrives at your doorstep. However, others begin the charging as soon as the car leaves to pick you up, especially when a lot of travelling is involved.
Taking into consideration all the factors involved in renting a car can help you answer how much does it cost to rent a limousine for an event. When you want to use it, how long, and for how many people all play roles in the prices. When you compare it to renting a room for the night, you realize that for quality service and a great experience, you get what you pay for.
