While in Anna Maria Island, the perfect way to explore all that the island has to offer is by water. There is so much to do and see and why not explore the area by kayak. You can paddle your rental kayak along the beach and through the canals. This beautiful island, with its sun kissed, pristine beaches is definitely a sight to see from the water.
Anna Maria Island, considered Old Florida in their ways and customs, offers gorgeous weather and breathtaking views. There is something for everyone and you won’t want to miss a thing!
Kayak rentals on Anna Maria Island can get you to such areas as the Bimini Bay. Located off the Gulf of Mexico this is an amazing area to explore. Check out the fancy yachts moored at Galati’s – you will feel dwarfed by the massive boats. Take the kayak into parts unknown to see all the nature and wild life around you. Paddle through the mangroves and search for birds of all types and definitely keep an eye out for manatees and dolphins as they love hanging out in the bay. The water is warm and clear and the weather is perfect over 350 days a year making it perfect for cruising for days on end. Share the water with boaters and fishermen as well. Meet the locals and take in the sites.
There is also Bean Point that is located at the northern end of Anna Maria Island. It was named after George Emerson Bean who was one of the very first people to live and stay permanently on Anna Maria Island. The beach up there is secluded and private and getting there is not easy, but with a kayak, there is no problem. Bean Point was part of Mr. Bean's original property. There are no parking lots there making kayaking your first choice of transportation. Bean Point is a beautiful open area that can only be accessed by water, foot or bike. The water here will amaze and astound you. Stop off to enjoy the beach and relax for a bit or keep going to explore more of the area. It is a very serene and peaceful area to enjoy; you may not want to leave.
However, there is no reason to stop there with the Anna Maria Island kayak rentals. Head to Robinson's preserve where it is fun for individuals and families alike. There are plenty of trails, bike trails and kayak adventures to enjoy. Bring the beloved family dog too, they will love the preserve as much as you do. It can be enjoyed year round by anyone looking to see all sorts of nature up close. Don't forget you can swim there too. So make sure to be ready to pull the kayak off to the side and jump in the water to take a dip. Before getting back into your kayak, dry off in the sun while you’re enjoying a picnic lunch. What a super way to spend your vacation.
